  • By knowledge, we mean integral knowledge.
  • Integral knowledge is that which explains each item in terms of every other item or aspect.
  • It presupposes a belief that all are interrelated.
  • The equilibrium of that interrelation is harmony.
  • The employer finding the candidate interviewed for editorship sees from the way he salts his steak that he has no balance or rationality. His act of salting and his editorial judgement are related in his character.
  • Character of life combines various aspects of life.
  • One must be able to see any event in terms of every event, and in terms of the center of life's personality.
  • It means that what happens at a given time all over the world is collectively determined and individually expressed.
  • As Time coordinates, Space does too.
  • The individual's past and present as well as his future are thus on a single strand.
  • Each such relation is governed by a law.
  • What happens to one man is true about another man.
  • Man and animal may differ in capacities but blood and nerve are the same. We expect human nerve to react as animal nerves.
  • In the plane of life, laws are the same for animal, man or god. God who is born as man is bound by human laws.
  • Laws are the same in a plane irrespective of the points at which they express.
  • One can study the history of Europe or Asia in this sense.
  • One may study major events of history or his own life.
  • The cardinal beliefs of the world are worth inquiring into. They are -- Be good, Be helpful, Love thy neighbour, Do your duty, Democracy is good, Wealth is evil, Life is evil, etc. Exhaust this list and spend your thought on them from the point of view of Sri Aurobindo. Original inquiry is the best if one can.
