The Absolute
·
Thought
seeks the Absolute.
The Absolute and the
relative exist in one another, co-exist.
The Absolute is relative and
the relative is the Absolute.
The Absolute keeps its
absoluteness in some way all the time.
The Absolute does not
create. It gives out what is there in it.
Though even infinity cannot
be ascribed to the Absolute, it can be conceived of as the Self-existing
Infinity and Eternity.
·
Can we create a practical concept of this Absolute?
·
We
conceive of goodness and from there we can proceed to the conception of
absolute goodness.
·
Anything
like beauty, honesty, loyalty, strength, etc. can move to its absolute, thus
creating absolute beauty, absolute honesty, etc.
·
A thing like beauty becomes absolute beauty when it is touched by the
Absolute.
·
Sri
Aurobindo talks of perfect perfection.
·
A
quality like courage can be perfect or not.
·
Perfect
courage is absolute courage.
·
Courage
has energy, organisation, force, delivery, the carrier, etc.
·
When
each of these aspects is absolute, courage becomes absolute courage. When
absolute energy absolutely delivers courage through an absolute carrier with
absolute force and absolute organisation , it is absolute courage.
·
Also,
it must fulfil the Upanishadic condition of complete minus complete = complete.
·
It
does not grow or shrink by addition or depletion.
·
For
us to conceive of such an Absolute in material life circumstances, our minds
should be touched by the Absolute rending each of its faculties absolute –
absolute thinking, absolute memory, etc.
·
One
who conceives of THAT
and dwells on
that will experience the Absolute.
·
All
elements and compounds are composed of atoms. The external change of the
elements does not change the basic atom.
·
Gold,
whether it is as ingots or ornaments or vessels, remains gold.
·
The
Absolute remains fully absolute even when it is relative.
·
The
thing remaining the same, the mind comes to see them differently.
·
Leaving the mind behind, the relative does reveal itself as the
Absolute.
·
To
leave mind behind, one needs to cease thinking and move into wordless Silence.
·
The
surface consciousness needs to be crossed as a first step.
·
As
one crosses words, one needs to go behind understanding, vision, intuition and
mental knowledge.
·
As
the Supermind retains its touch with the Absolute, it is there one feels it.
Rather the descending touch of Supermind in the mind gives that experience.
·
From
intellect to the integral experience through the intermediary intuition, one
reaches the final experience.
·
As
the Master and The Mother have realised the Absolute, one’s identification with
them gives that experience.
·
If one does any work with perfect perfection, that experience comes to
him during that work.
·
Moving
through faith, obedience, worship, self-giving, adoration, delight, Love, ecstasy,
and surrender, one ends up there.
·
Comprehension
of Chapter II of Book II of The Life Divine, which is on the aspects of
the Absolute, touches the mind with its sensation.
·
The
process of creation can give that experience.
·
Moving
to asat from sat gives the same experience.
·
On
page 476, Sri Aurobindo speaks of reaching the Absolute in several ways. All
can give the same experience.
